Chumphon Pinnacle is about 15 minutes away from Koh Nang Yuan, the sister island of Koh Tao.
Chumphon Pinnacle is a huge rock formation, depth 14 to 30m. At the roof of the rock you can find an uncountable amount of anemones. they are so close to each other that you almost cant see rock anymore. You have probably never seen such a high amount of anemones with its anemone fishes. Already during the decent you can see the red glowing anemone field while being welcomed by a group of bat fishes.
Of the Chumphon Pinnacle rock the is another Rock called Barracuda Rock. Around this rock you can find black tip and white tip reef sharks as well as bull sharks and a group of giant barracudas, which likes to circle around the rock. Furthermore there are small and huge groups of snappers, fusiliers, mackerels, rabbit fishes and big groupers. Chumphon Pinnacle is also a paradise for underwater photographers who prefer the macro world. The high light is for sure that this dive site is a favorite point of the wale sharks to feed. Depending o the season you might have a few sightings per day.
To go to the Chumphon Pinnacle we offer two alternatives. The first is with the high speed catamaran to Koh Tao, there changing to the dive boat, go for one dive at Chumphon Pinnacle and the second dive around Koh Tao. The second is going by a speed boat directly to Chumphon Pinnacle doing the first dive there and the second around Koh Tao. The prices differs a bit, as speed boats have higher gasoline costs per person.
The Chumphon Pinnacle is suitably for beginners as for experienced divers. Dives in depths from 1 to 40 meters are doable and offers a lot worth seeing. Depending on the season the visibility can vary from 2 to 30 meters. There can be slightly to strong current.
